Okay so I’m a junior in high school right now and I’m already freaking about colleges because I’m afraid that I won’t make it into any schools. So as of right now my overall GPA is 3.7. I’ve only taken honors english the past two years, and I doubled up on math my sophomore year (regular) and got all A’s and took stats this year and got a B+ but when I took the ACT I only got like a 19 on math so that made me frustrated so I’m planning on taking Honors Algebra 2 and Honors Analysis my senior year to help me with with harder math. My reading was good…22-23 i think (it went from a 15 to 22-23(: ) english was about 17 and science was bad. So I’m planning on taking it again to keep improving hopefully. I took a pretest one and got a 17 and the last one I took I got a 19. It sounds really bad I know, but like my sister is a much more slacker in school than me and has a much lower grade point average and she got a 21 because of her math so I thought if I take those harder classes next year it should help me get there too! i’m just very nervous. Also, I know this isn’t much but I’m in spanish club, hoping to be in link crew next year and I’m hoping to make NHS next year because I work really hard (my ACT doesn’t show how hard I work) This doesn’t have an impact but the reason why I’m not in heavy extra things for school is because I dance 4 nights a week. So I think what I do is really good for how busy I am. I’m ranked in like the 70-100 in my class which has around 400 kids. sorry for being so long, but I would really really appreciate the help for what I should do or if I have a chance?
I did take the writting and went from a 3 which is a 9 to a 4 i’m pretty sure. thanks so much by the way!

They don’t just look at your ACT score don’t worry. You’re GPA is good so that shouldn’t be a problem. Getting in NHS would help, and you have dedication to dance and Spanish club, you’re fine for extra stuff.
Your ACT is bad because of not having algebra 2. Trust me, you’ll do better once you have taken the course, I went from a 19 to a 23 after that for math. The science portion of the ACT is all over the place, I got a 25 or something the first time and a 19 the second time, I really have no suggestions for that. One thing I notice you didn’t list was the writing portion of the ACT. Take the writing portion, some schools require it and I think the UofM is one of them.
I got into the U for the school of IT, though I didn’t go there, with a 3.8 GPA, 4 extra curriculars, leadership experience and a 25 ACT. I think you’re fine if you do well on your entrance essay, and will be better off if you take on a leadership role next year. Is there anything you can do in your Spanish club? Irregardless, as long as you don’t completely shoot yourself in the foot this quarter and your first quarter of classes next year you’ll be fine
Just apply early, they like that.
