SHU-SHO – “Motivaionator” Music Video Here it is, the video for “Motivationator” off the upcoming SHU-SHO record “FATCAMP”. The video came about when in the middle of working on FATCAMP at Soulmine Studios in Oakland, we realized that I, Giovanny Blanco, had a few hours to kill in the Bay Area on a Monday night before my coffee fueled, overnight drive back to LA. Jaswho was out cold after a long weekend of marathon recording sessions and late night club gigs. I, on the other hand had spent all my Oakland time locked in the studio. I was going crazy…I needed to do SOMETHING. Of course, I could’ve driven home but I felt like I wasn’t done. So, I did what any normal person would do, I put an ad on Craigslist asking if anyone wanted to be the star of the next SHU-SHO music video. Departure time being three hours away and with nothing to shoot with but the Flip camera in my pocket, I didn’t expect much of a response. Especially since the last minute nature of the whole act surely raised some flags for some. I didn’t care, he knew there would be someone out there as maniacal as me. I wasn’t looking for a lot of responses…just one. After a handful of folks asking about money (rightfully so – people gotta get paid) and logistics (when, where, how and why) and I had neither. I just wanted to shoot some video. Flip video. Ha. Then I received an email from Johnnie Rodriguez, SF Actor with nothing better to do with just two questions: when and where.
